Rabbi Alter Metzger has a Doctorate in Guidance from Colombia University and is a professor of Jewish Studies at Stern College (Yeshiva University). He has written widely on Chasidic Thought and History. Rabbi Metzger served on a team of simultaneous translators in the farbrengens (gatherings) of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson for 18 years.
