Last year, the Zika virus was virtually unknown to most of the world. Today, it is a major global health concern, threatening the cancellation of the Olympics. This session will provide historical context to this disease, address the unique ethical and Jewish legal issues relating to the transmission of Zika, and learn how the Center for Disease Control recommendations present special challenges for Jews. Topics will include contraception, abortion and travel to endemic areas.
