Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis is the Chief Rabbi of the British Commonwealth. He was born in Cape Town, South Africa, and currently lives with his wife in Finchley, London. Prior to to being the Chief Rabbi, he served as Senior Rabbi to the Finchley Synagogue, where he was regarded as a strongly pastoral leader, with a focus on traditional Judaism. Prior to that, he served as the Chief Rabbi to Ireland.
