Rabbi Shaul Leiter is one of the founders and the current Director of Ascent of Tzfat. He gives classes on the weekly parasha and chassidus at Ascent and at the Machon Alta Women’s Seminary. He grew up in Brooklyn, NY and attended Cornell University, where he received a BS in Nutrition. He spent 3 years learning Torah in Chabad yeshivot in NY and Israel, and 3 more years in a Chabad Kollel in Tzfat. A significant event in his life was at the Woodstock music festival where he became observant by meeting and being influenced by a Moroccan Lubavitcher chassid named Mishel Abehsera.
